âªA new feminist message has been sent out at the Emmys. Alex Borstein believes that it is high time that women no longer act according to what society expects of them and to âstep out of the line.â
Not so different from her strong-willed character at Amazonâs âMarvelous Mrs. Maisel,â Borstein not only received her second consecutive Emmy Awards this year but also managed to release an important message for females all over the world to hear.
As she received her Emmy awards for supporting actress, her made sure her acceptance message would certainly stick to many. The actress, who played a rather opinionated character at the popular period drama, Susie Myerson, also made her opinion about women breaking rules and norms loud and clear – she approves and more women should do it!
âMy grandmother was in line to be shot into a pit,” Borstein told the captivated audience. Because she asked a guard “what happens if I step out of line?” and he responded “I don’t have the heart to shoot you, but somebody will” — and then no one did — the actress said “I am here and my children are here.”
“So step out of line, ladies,” she added. “Step out of line!,â she shouted.
One could say stepping out of line is her mantra.
last year, the actress received the said award and said she was braless. This year, she joked that she had skipped wearing an underwear. at least, people think sheâs joking.
âªIt was not only her who made use of the night to make political messages. Patricia Arquette is another female celebrity who made a strong speech. As she was accepting her award for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Limited Series or Movie for âThe Act,â she saidthat it is high time that trans people are respected and be given jobs. âI’m so sad I lost my sister Alexis and that trans people are still being persecuted… Let’s get rid of this bias that we have everywhere,” she said, adding: “They’re human beings and let’s give them jobs,â she said.
