Los Angeles, CA, United States (4E) – ‘Big Bang Theory’ creator Chuck Lorre continues to protest against the Trump administration. This time, he directed his comments at White House Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders, whom he attacked on the closing credits of ‘Big Bang Theory’ and ‘Young Sheldon’.
This time, Lorre played the vanity card by taking issue with Sanders’ recent interview with the Christian Broadcast Network. In the said program, Sanders said that it is God’s will that Donald Trump is being placed in the White House.
“God told me he hasn’t spoken to Sarah Sanders since she was fourteen years old and praying for her skin to clear up. I have no reason to doubt Him,” Lorre’s vanity card read, as quoted by Deadline.
Some, however, did not take lightly to Lorre’s comment and even considered it a sexist attack on women. According to Fox News, Media Research Center contributor Rebecca Downs, who saw and capture the message, commented “It’s also been established that it’s sexist and wrong to go after women for their looks. Is it only liberal women that this applies to?”
These vanity cards are brief texts that appear briefly before most Chuck Lorre-produced shows. As of this writing, Chuck Lorre Production’s official website have listed 612 vanity cards, with the swipe on Sanders being the latest.
He has dedicated a couple of vanity cards for the Trump administration in the past, Vanity Fair reported. In a 2017 episode of ‘Big Bang Theory’, Lorre’s vanity card read: “Defeat terrorism and crazy dictators? He couldn’t even defeat ‘Two and a Half Men,'” referring to a 2006 television ratings chart that indicated that Trump’s reality show, ‘The Celebrity Apprentice’, was defeated by Lorre-produced ‘Two and a Half Me’ and CBS’ ‘Courting Alex’.
