Pennsylvania, PA, United States (4E) – Bill Cosby considers himself a “political prisoner” and is not at all remorseful despite having been convicted of sexual assault. According to Andrew Wyatt, Cosby’s spokesman, the actor is not sad about being in prison and believes “he did nothing wrong.”

Cosby is currently serving 3 to 10 years imprisonment at the SCI-Phoenix for drugging and sexually assaulting Andrew Constand in 2004. Since serving his sentence at the maximum security prison in Pennsylvania, he hasn’t seen his wife and children, although they talk on the phone three times a day. His only visitor and contact with the outside world is Wyatt.

Speaking to NBC10, Wyatt revealed that the 81-year-old comedian’s life in prison involves a routine that includes rinsing off his food to reduce his sodium intake and doing pushups and situps in his cell after waking up at 3:30 a.m. in the morning.

According to Wyatt, Cosby considers himself a “political prisoner” like Martin Luther King, Jr. and Nelson Mandela. In a previous statement, Cosby said that he was declared not guilty in 2005 during the first trial for his assault case. He insisted that when his case was revived, he was declared guilty for the judge and district attorney’s own personal gain.

“A low-life District Attorney and a corrupt Judge needed me Guilty now. Not for justice, but for their political aspirations,” Cosby said, as quoted by Fortune.

A new prosecutor revived the case in 2015 and had Cosby arrested after documents from Constand’s 2005 civil suit against the actor were unsealed. These documents Cosby’s own damaging testimony regarding the sexual encounters he had against Constand and other women.

Wyatt added that Cosby calls his prison sentence “an amazing experience” and is said to enjoy conversing with his fellow inmates. Prison spokeswomen Amy Wordensaid stated that several inmates have been assigned to assist Cosby as he navigates the facility due to his age and disability. During trial, it was revealed that Cosby is “legally blind”.
