Celine Dion Ends 16-Year Vegas Residency With New Song

Las Vegas, NV, United States (4E) – Celine Dion ended her 16-year Las Vegas residency with a heartwarming show at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace on Saturday night.
The 51-year-old multi-awarded singer performed before a crowd of 4,298 as she concluded her longstanding residency. Speaking to her audience, Dion said she is “very excited” and “a little bit emotional at the same time.”
“There are lots of wonderful memories, you know, but it’s kind of strange at the same time, because when they started to put it together I was here and it was like, ‘I don’t know,'” Dion shared. She also mentioned that she initially thought she was only doing her residency for three months and did not expect to continue doing so for 16 years, People reported.
Dion also remembered her late husband René Angelil, with whom she shared “this dream.” She was also joined by her children, Rene-Charles, and twins Nelson and Eddy.
On her final show, she gave the audience a taste of her best hits, including ‘My Heart Will Go On’, ‘The Power of Love’, and ‘Because You Loved Me’, to which the crowd sang along to.
The five-time Grammy winner also surprised fans as debuted her new song, ‘Flying On My Own’ which will be part of her upcoming studio album ‘Courage’. This will be Dion’s 27th studio album and will be released in November, according to Billboard.
She’s set to embark on her ‘Courage World Tour’ starting this September 18 in Quebec City, Canada.
Dion first started her Las Vegas residency at Caesars Palace in March 2003, which at the time was titled ‘A New Day’.
