Los Angeles, CA, United States (4E) – Chris Brown has returned to the USA after being arrested in Paris, France for allegedly raping a woman. The singer has since denied the claims against him and is pursuing a defamation suit against his accuser.
Brown arrived in a private jet with his crew at the Van Nuys airport just outside of Los Angeles on Saturday afternoon. Although he has yet to publicly address the incident, except for the now-deleted tweet wherein he denied the allegations of rape, his attorney, Raphael Chiche, told the media that they are pursuing a complaint for slanderous denunciation against the singer’s 24-year-old accuser.
In a statement, as quoted by People, Chiche said that the case was filed with the Public Prosecutor in Paris. In the filing made on Thursday, the R&B singer accused the woman of “false accusation, committed on January 18, 2019 in Paris… and not prescribed, provided for and punished” by the French Penal Code.
In a previous Instagram post, which has now been deleted, Brown said that the accusation was damaging not only to himself, but also to his daughter, Royalty, who will turn 5 in May.
As to Brown’s case, although he has been released the charges against him haven’t been dropped and an investigation is still on going.
In a report by the Associated Press, an officer of the judiciary confirmed that Brown was “detained on potential charges of aggravated rape and drug infractions.”
Meanwhile, Brown’s new merch is said to be his response to the incident. According to BET, the latest release from his popular Black Pyramid clothing line include t-shirts that read “This B**ch Lyin'” and includes an image of the Eiffel Tower and the Mona Lisa, both representative of Paris where the rape accusation took place.
