Demi Moore had a really rough childhood. People who she thought she could trust turn out to be those who would put her in harm’s way. She revealed that not only was she raped at 15, her attacker even told her it was her mom who put her in the situation, all for $500.

After releasing a book about her trials and tribulations in life, including her rape and how Ashton Kucher cheated on her, she spoke about the horrific incident personally on “Good Morning America.”She elaborated on what she wrote on her memoir entitled “Inside Out.”

According to her, when she was at the tender age of 15, she came home night to see an older man on their apartment. The man had obvious access to their apartment. What happened after was described by Moore as “rape and a devastating betrayal.” Not only was she abused, she also found for her assailant that she was “whored” by her mom for $500.

“GMA” co-anchor Diane Sawyer then asked the actress if she believed what the assailant revealed. “I think in my deep heart, no, I don’t think it was a straight-forward transaction,” Moore said. “But she still did give him the access and put me in harm’s way.”

She eventually dropped out of high school because of her troubles when she was a a teen and going on acting auditions, believing she has nothing to lose anyway.

“The confidence was, ‘I don’t have anything to lose. I don’t have anything. So, why not?’” she said on “GMA.”

On her book, Moore had been quite open about the kind of mom she had. Her mom gave to her at only 19 and her dad already vanished at the time. She reportedly only knew who her father was and why he left later at life. The actress was actually led to believe the man raising her was her real dad, and only found out the truth when she was 15. It can be remembered that back in 2007, she already opened about this aspect of her life to The Guardian. ”If I didn’t step out of how hurtful that was, it would have been mind-twisting for me,” she said.

The actress had been positive then, about how she took on the adult role at home when her stepfather committed suicide and her mother became an alcoholic shortly after.

“You could either be trapped by what was going on around you, or you could find a way out,” the actress said. “I think that everything, even if it is scary or good, comes into our life to help elevate and expand us as human beings,” she added.
