Los Angeles, CA, United States (4E) – Kanye West and Jaden Smith are working together on an upcoming Showtime series titled ‘Omniverse’.

‘Omniverse’ is a limited half-hour anthology series that will delve into the many aspects of perception. The first season of the show will explore the Ego through the eyes of an alternate reality Kanye West, whose younger version will be portrayed by Smith, Variety reported.

Showtime has ordered a script for ‘Omniverse’ which will be written by Lee Sung Jin, best known for his work on ‘Tuca & Bertie’ and ‘Silicon Valley’.

West and Scooter Braun are set to executive produce the series, together with Scott Manson and James Shin representing SB Projects, a media company owned by Braun. Smith and Miguel Melendez are also attached as executive producers for Westbrook Studios.

Smith, who recently performed at Coachella Music Festival this year with his father, Will Smith, and sister Willow Smith, has appeared in several television and movie roles, including ‘ The Karate Kid’ and Neflix’s ‘The Get Down’. ‘Omniverse’, however, marks Smith’s first time as an executive producer for a TV show, Entertainment Tonight wrote.

He has also been dropping hints about the release of his new album, ‘ERYS’, which is the follow-up to his 2017 material ‘SYRE’. He recently released a track for ‘Spier-Man: Into the Spider-Verse’ titled ‘Way Up’.

Meanwhile, although West has been involved in several media projects this year, this is his first time working as a TV producer.
