Los Angeles, CA, United States (4E) – Justin Bieber is reportedly seeking treatment for depression, sources claim.
A source told Us Weekly that the ‘What Do You Mean’ singer is “going to several doctors” to seek help with his personal struggles. While the 24 year old singer is not in rehab, he is seeing a therapist but does not want to be “dependent on medication.”
“He struggles with ups and downs, anxiety, depression and uncertainty about the future,” the source said.
Another source told E! News that the pop crooner “wants to get better” and is trying to get all the help he can get. He opened up about his battle with depression in his joint interview for Vogue together with his wife, Hailey Baldwin.
“I got really depressed on tour,” the singer shared, referring to his ‘Purpose’ tour in 2017. “I haven’t talked about this, and I’m still processing so much stuff that I haven’t talked about. I was lonely. I needed some time.”
He also admitted to taking Xanax because he found himself doing things he was ashamed of. According to Bieber, it reached a point where things “got pretty dark” and that there were times when his security would check on him while he was sleeping to check his pulse and see if he was still breathing. He also revealed that he joined the Hoffman Process, although he admittedly wasn’t comfortable with the activities involved in the retreat.
Throughout this ordeal, Bieber is leaning on a strong support system composed of “people that love him most,” including his wife. He revealed that while he is the “emotionally unstable one” in the relationship, Baldwin is “very logical and structured” and is exactly what he needs.
