Los Angeles, CA, United States (4E) – Kanye West recently revealed that he has big plans for the less fortunate, and that includes housing inspired by ‘Star Wars’.
As his latest charitable effort, the 42-year-old rapper is contributing to a project that will build free homes for the homeless and the design for these homes will be inspired by Luke Skywalker’s home in Tatooine as featured in ‘Star Wars: A New Hope’.
West took Forbes writer Zack O’Malley Greenburg on a tour of the prototype homes that are “oblong and dozens of feet tall.” The rapper is working with a team to “design prefabricated structures that sport the same austere aesthetic” similar to Skywalker’s residence. The goal of the project is to provide “low-income housing units” for the less fortunate.
The hip hop mogul is a long-time fan of the ‘Star Wars’ franchise. He has made reference to the films in the lyrics to his songs. Also, in 2004 he created a pilot titled ‘Alligator Boots’ for Comedy Central and asked Kim Kardashian, whom, at the time, was not yet formally introduced to him, to take part as Princess Leia. Last year, he also appeared in an episode of ‘Saturday Night Live’ with ‘Star Wars’ actor Adam Driver.
Kardashian herself has also been passionate about helping out homeless people. In a 2018 episode of ‘Keeping Up With the Kardashians’, she went to visit homeless people in Los Angeles to highlight their struggles and raise awareness about the problem. It was revealed that she made generous donations to the Alexandria House, which is a long-term shelter for women and single mothers, which was also featured on the show, People reported.
In a 2015 interview, Kardashian wrote that it was ‘Star Wars’ that brought her to West.
