Lewiston, NY, United States (4E) – Rapper Kodak Black is now facing drug and weapons charges after he attempted to enter the U.S. from Canada carrying the said contraband in his car, law enforcement officials confirm.

Kodak Black, whose real name is Bill Kapri, was driving a Cadillac Escalade with a temporary California registration and was about to cross the Lewiston-Queenston International Bridge when the police saw weed on him. Further inspection of the vehicle also led to the discovery of a Glock 9mm pistol which was undeclared by Black and his two companions.

A second car, a Porsche, was travelling with Black’s team and carried three other individuals. Inside the car, police found two loaded handguns, one weapon described as an “AK-style handgun with 30-round magazine” and more marijuana, TMZ reported.

Black is being changed of three-degree criminal possession of a weapon as well as unlawful possession of marijuana. The driver of the Porsche is also facing the same charges as the rapper, according to CBS.

The two passengers in the Escalade are facing a weapons charge.

The ‘Wake Up In The Sky’ rapper was arraigned in a town court and remanded to county jail. His bail was set at $20,000 cash or $40,000 bond.

The rapper and his companions are due back in court on May 8.

Following his arrest, Black’s show in Connecticut at Foxwoods Resort Casino was cancelled. His representative said, however, that his show in Philadelphia on Friday night will proceed as planned.

Black was not able to attend his show in Boston due to the incident, angering fans who were already at the concert venue.
