Los Angeles, CA, United States (4E) – The comedy show “The Office” might have a comeback but not exactly in a way one would expect. Two of its casts, Mindy Kaling and Amy Ryan sat down with IndieWire, presented by Dropbox, to discuss they’re new movie “Late Night”— which debuted successfully in Sundance where it was sold for $13 million on its premiere.
“The Office” alums didn’t stray too far from the movie they were promoting but their previous show together was asked.
Kaling, who went on to star on her own show “The Mindy Project” and big films such as “Oceans 8” and “A Wrinkle in Time”, confessed that she would love a reunion but as often a problem as it is timing and schedules of the stars are conflicting. She said to IndieWire that she loved the show and was surprised that it became a cultural phenomenon.
The actress, writer, producer and director also revealed that their show boss, Steve Carell, was shooting another project as of the moment so it’s almost impossible to have a reunion.
Meanwhile, Ryan appeared in several shows and films after the sitcom with the likes of “Birdman”, “Bridge of Spies”, “Goosebumps” and together with Carell on last year’s ‘Beautiful Boy’.
Ryan didn’t address a hopeful reunion but said that she loved the show calling it a “joyous experience”. She shared that almost all her life she had done dramas and would go home beaten and broken down but when she did “The Office” she compared to an ab work out “because we laughed all the time.”
