Nipsey Hussle Dead In LA Shooting, Police Say Incident Appears To Be Gang-Related Violence

Los Angeles, CA, United States (4E) – Rapper Nipsey Hussle died in a shooting incident outside Marathon Clothing in Los Angeles on Sunday. According to the Los Angeles Police Department, two other people were injured in the shooting, which took place at around 3:20 in the afternoon.

All three people were rushed to the hospital, where Hussle was pronounced dead. The other two are already in a stable condition.

In a tweet the LAPD said they have no lead yet as to the suspect, but he was described as a black male. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the LAPD South Bureau Homicide is conducting an investigation to locate the suspect and anyone else involved in the shooting.

TMZ reported that a young man claimed on Instagram that he was Hussle’s shooter. Identified only by his Instagram handle @gasstongbo, the guy said he approached Hussle and shot him in front of his daughter.

Although these claims are not verified, sources told TMZ that Hussle’s death appears to be “gang-related” and officers are currently working on the case. Law enforcement sources also said that that the rapper and his friends were approached by the gunman on foot as he fired multiple shots. He allegedly escaped in a car with a driver who is said to be female.

Meanwhile, tributes have started pouring in for Nipsey Hussle. Drake described the 33-year-old rapper as “a man of respect and a don.”

Pusha T, who was nominated together with Hussle for Best Rap Album at this year’s Grammy Awards, wrote on Instagram: “Sad to see you go Nip, I’m only finding peace in knowing you are blessed.”
