Los Angeles, CA, United States (4E) – Due to the outpour of support in the wake of Nipsey Hussle’s death, his family have reportedly decided to hold the rapper’s memorial service in a venue that accommodate the huge crowd that is expected to attend.

The memorial service will take place on Thursday morning at the Staples Center in Los Angeles, California, sources close to the situation told TMZ. The venue has a 21,000 seating capacity and tickets for the event will be sold through a website.

It was also said that Hussle’s family and officials of the Staples Center already had a meeting on Wednesday regarding their plans for the service. Officers from the Los Angeles Police Department were also present to map out plans for security and logistics.

The Staples Center was also the venue for the memorial service for the late Michael Jackson in 2007.

Meanwhile, the Grammy-nominated rapper will be honored at the House Floor next week. The announcement was made by Representative Karen Bass, who is also a Los Angeles native like Hussle.

In a tweet, Bass said she will enter the rappers “contributions to South Los Angeles” into the Congressional Record so that it can become part of United States history.

Bass told CNN that she wants to ensure that Hussle’s legacy lives on and that he may be remembered by the community “as someone who selfless gave back and invested and enriched and cared.”

She added that Hussle always promoted “economic empowerment and entrepreneurship.”

Nipsey Hussle died on Sunday, March 31, after being fatally shot by a gunman later identified as Eric Holder.
