Los Angeles, CA, United States (4E) – Fresh from his Best Actor win at the Oscars, Malek is in the final negotiations to play the bad guy in ‘Bond 25’, which will be directed by Cary Joji Fukunaga, sources told Collider. Daniel Craig will return as James Bond. The film is expected to be Craig’s last time as Agent 007.

Early reports revealed that Malek was being considered for the role, but his filming schedule for the last season of ‘Mr. Robot’ conflicted with ‘Bond 25’. However, sources now say that WME, Malek’s management, has negotiated with the movie studio to accommodate his filming schedules.

No confirmation has been made as of yet with respect to the specific details of Malek’s role, but the villain is widely rumored to be a blind man.

Together with Craig, Lea Seydoux is confirmed to reprise his role as psychologist Madeleine Swann. Naomie Harris, Ben Whishaw, and Ralph Fienners, who appeared in ‘Spectre’, will also return in the upcoming ‘Bond’ film.

According to People, the movie’s release date has been set to February 14, 2020. Filming will begin at London’s Pinewood Studios on March 4, 2019. The production suffered delays after Danny Boyle dropped as the director in August 2018.

Aside from Malek, Fukunaga is also reportedly eyeing Oscar winner Lupita Nyong’o for a key role in ‘Bond 24’, although the actress not yet shown any interest in joining the franchise.

Malek recently starred with Charlie Hunnam in ‘Papillon’ and will be heard as the voice of Chee-Chee in ‘The Voyage of Doctor Dolittle’.
