Los Angeles, CA, United States (4E) – ‘Riverdale’ and ‘90210’ star Luke Perry has been hospitalized after suffering a stroke.
The actor’s representative told the press on Thursday that he is “currently under observation at the hospital.” No further details about his condition were made available. His representative also denied earlier reports that the actor was placed in a medically induced coma, but confirm that he’s being sedated.
Paramedics were called to the actor’s home in Sherman Oaks before he was rushed to the hospital. The 52-year-old has been feeling scenes for ‘Riverdale’ at the Warner Bros. film lot in Los Angeles before his hospitalization.
Many of his ‘90210’ and ‘Riverdale’ co-stars have taken to social media to send their support and prayers for the actor. Ian Ziering, who worked with him on ‘90210’, shared of a photo of them together on Instagram with the caption, “No words can express what my heart feels hearing today’s shocking news. Let us all say a prayer for his speedy recovery.”
Lili Reinhart, who plays Betty Cooper on ‘Riverdale’, also sent his love to Perry through an Instagram post where she wrote, “Thinking of you, Luke. And praying for your safe recovery.”
His other co-stars Molly Ringwald, Kristy Swanson, Shannen Doherty, and Cole Sprouse also showed their support for the actor.
His hospitalization comes after the announcement from Fox that ‘90210’ was getting a six-episode reboot featuring its original cast members. Although Perry was not among those confirmed to reprise their roles, his co-stars Ziering, Jason Priestly, Jennie Garth, Gabrielle Carteris, Tori Spelling, and Brian Austin Green are returning.
