Los Angeles, CA, United States (4E) – After the Grammy awards hoopla has started to wind down, another musical event happened on Tuesday at a famous West Hollywood recording studio: rapper Rich the Kid and his entourage were robbed amidst pistol shots at the Westlake Recording Studio where RnB artist Usher was also recording.

TMZ reports that onlookers heard a maximum of 10 gun shots fired by an unidentified man as he ran outside the studio, running away from the scene. TMZ further reports that when the incident was occurring, Rich was outside and definitely the target of the robbery— instead, his entourage was also victimized, losing their belongings and a bodyguard “badly pistol whipped.” The attacker ended up bagging a ton of cash and jewelry from its victims.

Law enforcers confirmed that Usher was inside but unhurt. Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Office says that the two artist were recording in separate sessions. TMZ caught Usher going outside the studio looking fine and kept mum on the shooting.

Four hours before the incident, Rich posted a picture of him on Instagram showing off stacks of dollar bills, multiple gold and diamond necklaces plus other jewelry, standing in front of a bluish-purple Lamborghini. He captioned it, “For motivational purposes only.”

Police are currently investigating the attack— they searched the studio and barricaded the whole block for evidence and leads to identify the perpetrator. There are no reports as of yet if there were people injured during the pistol whipping outside the studio.

Unfortunately for Rich, this is not the first time such incident happened as he was badly injured in the past due to an armed home invasion robbery.
